Funeral services for Adeline L. Baskett, 79, were conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the First Congregational Church. The Rev. Oliver Tamquary, pastor, officiated and burial was in Mountain View Cemetery.
Mrs. Baskett died early Saturday morning at the Sweet Grass Community Hospital. She had been hospitalized in Big Timber and Livingston since Aug. 11, when she suffered a stroke.
She was born Dec. 21, 1895, a Stoughton, Wis., a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sven Legried. She attended schools in Wisconsin and later taught in Plevna, Mt.
She was married to Dr. L. W. Baskett July 26, 1916, at Sumboldt, Iowa. They came to Big Timber April 1917, and Dr. Baskett practiced medicine here for 45 years.
She was a member of the First Congregational Church, the Democratic Women, Order of Eastern Star, the Woman's Club, American Legion Auxiliary, Senior Citizens, Daughters of the Nile, Son's of Norway, Wilitgro Garden Cub, Homeland Circle, the Red Cross, and the Woman's Auxiliary of the Montana Medical Association.
Survivors include a son, Dr. L. M. (Mack) Baskett, Livingston; a daughter, Mrs. Charles (Elaine) Mueller, Big Timber; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, three brothers, and a sister.
Casket bearers for the funeral were Harold McLauchlan, Dr. John Pearson, Wallace McArthur, Conrad Smart, E.O. Overland, and Arnold Johnson.
Mrs. Oliver Tanquary was organist.
