Linus E. Thomas, age 68, of Belcourt, ND passed away on Thursday, January 29, 2009 in Triumph Hospital, Mandan, ND.
Funeral Mass was held on Tuesday, February 3, 2009 in St. Ann's Catholic Church, Belcourt, ND. Burial was in St. Ann's Catholic Cemetery. Casket bearers were Jasper Thomas, Beau Fredrick, Mike and Anthony Marquart, Jessie Peltier and Bernard Thomas.
Linus was born February 2, 1940, in Belcourt, ND, the son of Dora (Azure) and William Thomas Sr. He served in the United States Military and received an honorable discharge. He was united in marriage to Clara Thomas in Belcourt. Together they had 10 children, Kathy, Barbara, Melody, Bernadette, Martina, Lilly, Joyce, Corine, Lenus Jr. and Bernard.
Linus worked in Auto Body for many years.
Survivors include his wife, Clara Thomas of Rolette; daughters: Kathy Gustafson of Woodward, OK, Barbara Marquart, Melody Rath and Bernadette Thomas, all of Minot, Martina True of Montana, Lilly Peltier of Oaks; sons: Linus Thomas Jr. of Rolla, and Bernard Thomas of Belcourt; 23 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sisters: Barbara Murphy of Gwinner, SD, Marlene Laducer of Rolla, Linda DeCoteau of Minot and Lillian Lilley of Belcourt and several nieces and nephews.
Linus was preceded in death by his parents; daughters: Joyce Ann Bachmeier and Corine Marie Thomas; and a grandson, Gerald McKinnin III.
