Alfred Frye, 68, Nineveh, died unexpectedly Thursday afternoon.

Frye was a timber buyer, and had retired in 1973 from Amos-Thompson Division of Hammermill Paper after 40 years. He was employed with Freeman Industries of Winchester, Ky., at the time of his death.

Funeral service will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Eskew Funeral Home in Edinburg by the Rev. Eldon Ernest. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery.

Persons may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Sunday.

Frye was born June 11, 1908, to Elishaia and Serepthia Butcher Frye in Monroe County. He married the former Verla Park in 1931, and she survives. Frye was a member of Nineveh Christian Church.

Other survivors include three sons. Jack Frye of Rockford, Ill., Max Frye of Carey, Ohio, and Larry Frye of Edinburg; one daughter, Lynda Ramey of Edinburg; two sisters, Eva Corey of Bedford, and Mrs. Arbutus Braneman of Ellettsville; two brothers, the Rev. Roscoe Frye of Tilden, and Freelen Frye of Madison, and 13 grandchildren.

Services Were Monday for Alfred Frye

The Rev. Eldon Ernest conducted funeral services Monday at 1:30 p.m. at Eskew Funeral Home for Alfred Frye, 68, of Nineveh who died unexpectedly Thursday afternoon.

Burial was at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburg. Serving as pallbearers were Ralph Miller, Tom Depp, Albert B. Cox, Robert Curry, Henry Conover and Harold Patterson. Ivory Lemley was named honorary pallbearer.
