Funeral services will be held for Joe Taylor, Sr., 67, of Route 1, Strong, tomorrow afternoon at 2:30 in the Huttig Baptist Church.
Taylor, who died yesterday afternoon at a local hospital, was born in Columbia County Sept. 30, 1883. A retired lumberman, who had been employed by the Union Saw Mill Company as a shipping clerk, he was a member of the First Baptist Church of Huttig.
His survivors include his wife, Mrs. Era Graves Taylor; six daughters, Mrs. George Cox, Mrs. Everett Miller, Mrs. Claude Stevens, Mrs. John Bard, all of Bogalusa, La., Mrs. Maxey McGowen and Mrs. Alvis Poole, both of El Dorado; three sons, Joe Taylor, Jr. and Harold Taylor , both of Crossett, and James K. Taylor, Childersburg, Ala.; and 15 grandchildren.
The Rev. Rolla Nixon of Fountain Hill will have charge of the services, assisted by the Rev. Bernard Beasley, Huttig, assisting. Burial will follow in the Harper Springs Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Asbury Burson, Strong; Frank Duvall, Sr., W. H. Guinn, C.G. Ward, and Telphord Impson, all of Huttig; and J. S. Montgomery, El Dorado.
The body will be removed to the family home this afternoon where it will remain until time for the funeral service.
