John was married twice. His first wife was named Ira with whom he had several children.

No record exists showing that a divorce occurred, but a marriage record in Prescott shows that John married Mary Anderson in 1901.

DNA tests have established the connection to his father and his mother, so they have now been included.

Ida could have been a nickname for Ella Cornelia.

From the summer of 1901 till his death, John served as the Justice of the Peace for the Wickenburg district. The constable serving with him was Henry B. Davenport who was married to Mary Anderson Boyd's sister Miriam.

Death of J. E. Boyd –

John E. Boyd, justice of the peace at Wickenburg died there last Friday. His life had for a longtime been despaired of.

Mr. Boyd came to Phoenix about twenty years ago. He filled several official positions during his residence in Phoenix . He was under sheriff in several administrations and for a time was connected with the office of the county recorder.

Note: Due to the many floods that have occurred in Wickenburg, John's grave has been lost and the family cannot find it.

The Maricopa County Recorders office at that time just noted deaths and simply noted that John was buried in Wickenburg. Not where he was buried in Wickenburg.
