Chester O. Blair age 93 of Miami, Oklahoma passed away, March 11, 2011 at the Osborne Care and Rehabilitation Center in Miami.
He was born on April 2, 1917 in Bridport Dorset, England, the son of Edward and Delta Crain Bluejacket.
He was united in marriage to Joan Mary Osborne on April 14, 1945, unto this union 3 children were born.
He worked and retired from the B.F. Goodrich Plant in Miami, Oklahoma.
He served his country in the United States Army during WWII and was honorably discharged November 10, 1945.
He was a tribal member of the Eastern Shawnee Tribe and a member of the All Saints Episcopal Church, of Miami.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Joan, and one daughter Deborah Jane.
He is survived by two daughters; Judy Wright of Sturgeon, Missouri, Betsy Phelan of Bartlesville, Oklahoma and one son, Chester Blair, Jr., of Brandon, Mississippi. Also surviving are 9 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Chester O. Blair will be held 10:30 A.M., Friday, March 18, 2011 at the All Saints Episcopal Church in Miami with The Rev. Susan Connell, officiating.
Visitation will be held, Thursday evening from 7:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
Interment will be in the G.A.R. Cemetery in Miami.
Pallbearers will be Dustin Smith, Chad Phelan, Cory Blair, Eric Wright, Tony Aguilar and Gabriel Steiger.
Military Rites will be conduct by the American Legion Funeral Detail of Miami and will also have Native American Indian Rites.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Paul Thomas Funeral Home, Miami.
