"Jensen, Former Photographer In Minot, Dies
Word has been received in Minot of the death of Charles Jensen, longtime Minot photographer who moved to Spokane, Wash., in 1958. Thomas Funeral Home will have charge of burial services. Mr. Jensen was in the photography business in Minot for about a quarter of a century. A native of Faribault, Minn., Mr. Jensen first came to Minot area at the age of eight and lived near Carpio where his father homesteaded. During World War I he served with the Canadian Army for five years and was wounded in action in France. He first made his home in Minot in 1927, starting a wholesale photofinishing firm on Central Avenue East. He moved to Spokane in 1934 and returned seven years later to go into the photo business with his brother, Clarence. The Jensen studio operated in the Sons of Norway Building and Union National Bank Annex until selling out. Shortly after, Mr. Jensen opened another studio in the Temple Court building. In 1952, Mr. Jensen joined the staff of the Minot Daily News as photographer and dark room technician. From 1955 to 1958, under a lease agreement, he operated Jensen's Studio in the basement of The News. Survivors include his wife and four children, Clifford of Minot, Robert and Mrs. George Severson in Spokane and Mrs. Fred Vogelgesang of Chicago." Gravesite Details

Born Charley Christain Jenesn. He was born in a Danish community in Rice Co., MN, he did not learn to speak English until he was about 11. He died in Spokane, WA and is buried in Minot, where he was a newspaper photographer.
