D r. J. P . Hutchinson conducted
Memorial services Sunday afternoon
for Frank Goodness who passed
away suddenly Wednesday evening
following a brief Illness of ­
influenza and complications. Brief
services were held at 2 o'clock in the
Fiscus funeral home with the main
service a t 2:30 in the Methodist
church.

Bearers were Russell Wood, W. H.
Emanuel, I. J. Kleesples, Ralph
Jones, Wayne Creighton and George
Myott. Honorary bearers were
Charles Chapman , C. B, McGill, Lou
Phillips, Guy Mack, Ray Sharp and
Bert Marchant .

Interment was at Storm Lake .

Frank Victor Goodness, son of
F. F . and Charlotte Goodness, was
born at Alta on April 5, 1890 and
passed into the world unseen at his
home on January 5, 1944. He attained the age of 53 years and nine
months when death came.

When he was three years old, the
family moved to Weyerhauser, Wis.,
where he grew to young manhood
and finished his education, and also
united with the Methodist church.
Leaving Wisconsin, the family moved
to South Dakota in 1907.

In July, 1910 Mr. Goodness came
to Storm Lake.

On Oct. 31, 1914 he
was married to Mural Seaton. They
have lived in Storm Lake since
their marriage with the exception
of two years, from Dec. 15, 1917 to
Oct. 21, 1919.

On Dec. 15, 1917 Mr. Goodness
enlisted in the medical corps of the
Army In World War I. He was stationed­
at Fort Des Moines in the
U S. General hospital No. 26. Mrs.
Goodness accompanied him and they
lived in Army quarters.

Mr Goodness was honorably discharged on Oct 21, 1919 with the
rank of first sergeant to his credit.
On June 16, 1943 he volunteered
his services on the Alcan Highway,
working there until Nov. 1 when
Mrs. Goodness met him at Seattle.
After visiting relatives there in
Bremerton and Spokane they
returned home to Storm Lake.

Mr. Goodness is survived by his
wife Mural and two daughters, Mrs.
Venetta Lind of Storm Lake and
Geraldlne "Peach" Goodness of
Childress, Texas, his mother Mrs.
Grace Goodness of Spokane, two
brothers, Jess of Spokane and H E.
Goodness of Mobridge, S. D . ,two
sisters, Mrs. Ina Forkner of Spokane
and Mrs. Opal Hemming of Bremerton ; one granddaughter, Janette
GacLind of Storm Lake ; and six
nieces and nephews.
