Peoria Journal Star, IL, Obituaries, February 17, 1993. "Nellie Ayres, 87, of 2117 W. Garden died at 6:40 p.m. Monday, Feb. 15, 1993, at Bel-Wood Nursing Home. She was born July 6, 1905, in East Peoria to Harrison and Mary Stanky Bohm. Surviving are five sisters, Minnie Ready, Mrs. Lowell (Ruth) Stone, Virginia Routt, all of Peoria, Oline Ewing of Bartonville and Ivy Laurie of Norwalk, Calif.; six grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. One son, Walter, two sisters and two brothers precedded her in death. She worked at Hiram Walker & Sons for 38 years, retiring in 1970. She was a member of First Church of the Nazarene. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Endsley & Son Funeral Home, 1417 S. Stanley. The Rev. Kenneth Christoffersen will officiate. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight at the funeral home. Burial will be in Fondulac Cemetery in East Peoria.".
