Funeral services were held Monday at the First Presbyterian Church for Mrs. Louis W. Lowe, 46, who passed away at her home Tuesday, December 31. Eastern Star rites were held with the Rev. Elmer E. Rosekilde officiating. Interment was in the IOOF Cemetery.
Alice Virginia Holbrook was born at Bottineau, North Dakota, on December 25, 1900, and came to Bandon with her family 38 years ago. She had been ill for the past eight months.
She graduated from Bandon High School and took the teacher's training course at Monmouth. She was married to Louis W. Lowe October 24, 1923.
Mrs. Lowe was active in various clubs, and the Eastern Star Lodge, of which she was a past matron. She was contact mother of the Bandon Navy Mother's club and secretary of the Bandon Women's Civic club at the time of her death.
Deceased is survived by her husband, Louis; two sons, Dale, who was serving with the Navy at San Diego, and Zane, who attends high school here; her mother, Mrs. Nancy Holbrook; a sister, Mrs. Jean Dixon; and three brothers, Frank, Lyle and Kenneth Holbrook; and a nephew, Denny Blake.
