Dr. Frank G. Jackson, a practicing physician here for more than 50 years, died Friday at 1:30 p.m. at the Hotel Roberts, where he had been confined since he was stricken with a heart attack Tuesday night. He was 76 years old.
With the exception of a few years' practice at Mt. Summit, Dr. Jackson had lived in Muncie all his life. He was born here November 25, 1858, the son of William N. and Sarah (Collins) Jackson, both members of pioneer Delaware County families.
Besides medical organizations, Dr. Jackson was a charter member of Walterhouse Camp, Sons of Veterans, and was a former surgeon of the Indiana division of that organiztion. He also was a past worshipful master of Delaware Lodge, No.46, Free and Accepted Masons, a position he held from 1891 to 1895. He had attained the thirty-second degree in Free Masonry and was a Noble of the Ancient Arabic Order of Nobles of the Mystic Shrine.
Mrs. Jackson died last April 4, almost a year from the datte that she and Dr. Jackson celebrated their golden wedding anniversary. Dr. and Mrs. Jackson were married 50 years May 16, 1933.
To Dr. and Mrs. Jackson were born two children, Lola and Sarah Jackson, the latter of whom married Ray Clark, Muncie attorney. Dr. Jackson was a member of the First Baptist Church.
Besides the two daughters, Dr. Jackson is survived by Warren Jackson of Muncie, a brother. Charles (Chic) Jackson, Indianapolis newspaper cartoonist and one-time resident off Muncie, was a brother. The latter died suddenly in his Indianapolis office a few months ago. H. Marsh Jackson, a druggist here who died a few years ago, also was a brother of the physician.
