Martha S. Babcock, 93, a resident of Wesbury United Methodist Community, Meadville, died there Saturday, December 17, 2005. She was born June 17, 1912, in Cataract, Indiana, the daughter of Harry and Elma Erwin Stevenson. She married Norman N. Babcock on June 14, 1936 in Bloomington, Indiana. He preceded her in death Oct 12, 2004. She was a 1934 graduate of Indiana University and worked as a teacher before raising her family. She later taught at Meadville Area Senior High School. She was a member of Stone United Methodist Church, Colonel Crawford Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Kappa Kappa Gamma, Women's Literary Club, Meadville Garden Club, Meadville Antique Club, Meadville Medical Center Auxiliary, Crawford County Historical Society, YWCA, Meadville Country Club and the Iroquois Club. She enjoyed gardening, needlepoint and other crafts. A private family service will be at Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville with the Rev. Gerald H. Murphy officiating. Burial will be in Greendale Cemetery.
