"Joseph Yetzer died at the home of his son John Yetzer in Council Bluffs on Feb. 21, 1907 after having been ill for some time with heart trouble. Mr. Yetzer was one of the earliest settlers in Cass County, Iowa. He first settled in Lewis in the fifties and in 1869 moved to Atlantic where he established a hardware store. He was the president of the Cass County Bank for many years. He was long identified with the business affairs of Cass County. His remains are to be laid to rest in the Atlantic Cemetery beside his first wife Maria [who is buried there along side their 3 children who died in infancy.] He is survived by sons John L. at Council Bluffs, Albert E. of Omaha, William of Sneffels, Colorado, and daughters Miss Mabel, and Grace Von Tise [sic] of Lancaster, Ohio."
