She married Robert Laurence Alcorn, a farmer, and moved into the Alcorn family homestead in Westmoreland County. Jean was widowed in 1939 when Robert finally succumbed to chronic nephritis. She lived on the farm for about 20 more years before a heart attack caused her to move to New Jersey with her daughter, Anna Jean, and her son-in-law, Bernard Halbstein. She lived in Oceanport and taught school as a substitute until her death in 1968.
