James H. "Buster" Evins, 93, of Littlefield, formerly of Muleshoe, died Thursday, March 17, 2011 in Littlefield.

He was born March 27, 1917 to William Wesley and Mary Elizabeth (Haden) Evins in Woodard, Okla. He married Ethlee Lynn in Bula, Texas on August 10, 1941. She preceded him in death May 14, 2009.

His parents; three brothers; and two sisters also preceded him in death.

Mr. Evins moved to the Bula area in 1925 in a covered wagon. He worked on the family farm until he enlisted in the US Army during World War II. He returned to the Muleshoe area where he farmed until he retired in 1998 and then moved to Littlefield in 2009.

Survivors include two sons, Kenneth Evins of Tulsa, Okla. and Derrel Evins of Dimmitt, Texas; two daughters, Barbara Black of Amarillo and Beverly Dreyer of Three Forks, Mo.; sister, Mary Ellen Bryan of Colorado Springs, Colo.; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
