Private Services Saturday for Capt. Lynn C. Wetherell
Private funeral services for Capt. Lynn C. Wetherell, 44, who died April 29 in Kent, England were held Saturday at the family home in Takamah.
The Rev. Carl W. Beckman, pastor of the Presbyterian church, officiated at the services. Burial was in the Tekamah cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Ernest Jacobsen, Lynn Peterson, Bert Cox, Lloyd Lawrence, Leroy Grothe and Lloyd Grothe.
Honorary pallbearers were C.A. Valder, Jasper Johnson, John Cutler, Dr. G.L. Schaefer, Martin Bundy, A.R. Kokes, Elzy Triplett, Bernard Anderson, Francis Stanfield and Emmett Hampton.
Capt. Wetherell, son of the late Roy Wetherell and Mrs. Roy Wetherell of Tekamah, was born Dec. 26, 1908, in Council Bluffs, Ia.
He was graduated from Tekamah high school, Epworth Military Academy, Epworth, Ia., and the Boyles Business college of Omaha. He was in officers' training at Duke University.
In the service for 18 years, he had been on duty two years in Germany and a year and a half in England.
Capt. Wetherell was a member of the Presbyterian church of Tekamah and a past president of the Tekamah DeMolay. He was married to Miss Georgia Ashley Braun of Tekamah July 3, 1942. Their home is in Riverside, Calif.
Surviving are his wife; his mother, Mrs. Roy Wetherell, and his sister Mrs. Ledra Lyons of Vancouver, Wash.
