Themistocles, aka as "Themis" was born in Triccala, Thessaly, Greece, and immigrated to the United States (according to 1920 US Census Records) in about 1917.

On January 9, 1920, the U.S. Census lists his occupation as "waiter" and he was living in "Brooklyn Assembly District 1, Kings County, New York" with Catherine Polizou.

He married Catherine Polizou (Polizos) on September 22, 1920 in Fredericksburg, Virginia, about a month after their daughter, Eva, was born.

In the 1930 US Census, he, Catherine and their three children Eva, Ioannis (John), and Stephanos (Stephen), are found living in the city of Fredericksburg, Virginia.

Eva was born August 23, 1920 in Fredericksburg, Virginia.
John was born July 26, 1922 in Fredericksburg, Virginia and died in Joliet Township, Will County, Illinois in May of 1987 from heart failure.
Stephen was born in Fredericksburg, Virginia as well.
