Chico Record, Tuesday, October 15, 1907, pg 5 col 4: Mrs. Silas Waiters Died Yesterday. Mrs. Silas W. Waiters (nee Dora Brown) died at the home of her sister, Mrs. Ellen Cleveland, in Chapmantown yesterday morning after an eight months' illness from tuberculosis.

Mrs. Silas Waiters was a native of Arkansas, and came to Chico with the family at an early age, and had since resided in this vicinity. Several years ago she was married to Silas Waiters, who survives her, with three children who graced the union.

Deceased also leaves three sisters – Mrs. Ellen Cleveland of Chico, Mrs. Mattie Phillips of Arkansas and Sadie Peck of Templeton, Cal., and four brothers, David and George Brown of Chico, William Brown of Arkansas and James Brown of Trinidad.

The funeral will be held from the Engel Undertaking Parlors this afternoon at 2 o'clock, Rev. A.B. Murphy of the Baptist Church officiating.
