When Alice was a very small child her parents moved to Iowa and settled on a farm near Braddyville, IA.

Alice accepted Christ as her savior early in life and joined the Methodist Episcopal Church of which she remained a loyal and faithful member of the Rebekah and Royal Neighbor Lodges.

Alice married Wm M Blackford on 24 Dec 1873. They moved from a farm north of Clearmont, MO to Maryville, MO in 1915 and then to Burlington Jct, Mo in 1931.

Mother Blackford was a faithful companion and loving and affectionate mother and grandmother.
