Julia E. Atherton, 55, of Earlville, Illinois passed away Monday, August 19, 2002 in OSF St. Anthony Medical Center, Rockford, Illinois. She was born June 20, 1947 in Sandwich, Illinois, the daughter of Nathan and Eleanor (Barnosky) Strouss. She was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church in Earlville, IL, the Moose Lodge in Mendota. She was previously employed at CTS Knights in Sandwich, Illinois and at Connor-Winfield in Aurora, Illinois. She could be seen walking her dog around town. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
Funeral Mass will be held 10:00 AM, Saturday, August 24, 2002 at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Earlville with the Reverend Robert Spilman officiating. Inurnment will be private in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 PM, Friday, August 23, 2002 at the Hanley-Turner Funeral Home in Earlville, Illinois.
She is survived by her children, Christina (Michael) Atherton Peddle of DeKalb, Illinois and Marc Atherton of Paw Paw, Illinois; one granddaughter, Brittany Giberson; one sister, Patricia (Kenneth) Bonine of Earlville, Illinois and two nieces and one nephew.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
