GEORGE R. SCULL
George Ross Scull, 63 years old, a life long resident of Irwin, died yesterday morning in his home in Cedar street, after a short illness. His wife, Elizabet Davis Scull died several years ago. He was the son of the late George R. Scull, fomer superintendent of the Westmoreland Coal company, and Mrs. Isabel Warren Scull, and was born in the Scull homestead, Brush Hill just east of Irwin. Mr. Scull was a Spanish American war veteran. He enlisted April 27, 1898, in Co. A 14th Pennsylvania Volunteers and was discharged February 28, 18??. He was a member of the Irwin Presbyterian church. Surviving are the following children: Mrs. Chester G. Sensenich, George R. Scull, and Mrs. Harry Waugaman, all of Irwin. Surviving also are four sisters, Mrs. Goldwin Starrett, Scarsdale, N.Y.; Mrs. John Stauffer, Mrs. John B. Martin and Amy Scull, all of Irwin, and one brother, Warren Scull, Pittsburgh. Funeral services will be held in his late home at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon in charge of his pastor, Rev. Samuel Blacker of the Presbyterian church. Interment will be made in the Irwin Union cemetery.
