Helen M. McClure, 90 of Effingham died at 8:30 p.m. Saturday, June 23, 2007 at Lakeland Rehabilitation @ Health Care Center, Effingham.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Centenary United Methodist Church in Effingham with the Rev. Carroll Lewis officiating. burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery, Effingham. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services in the church. Memorials may be made to Centenary United Methodist Church, 203 E. Grove, Effingham, Il. 62401.
She was born March 16, 1917 in Dieterich, the daughter of Fred Martin and Helena Engelbart Goebel. On Dec.15,1945 she married Willard W. "Bill" McClure in Effingham and he preceded her in death on July 6, 1994.
Mrs. McClure was a member of Centernary United Methodist Church in Effingham, member and Past Worthy Matron of Order of Eastern Star, member and past secretary Garden Club. She retired from Effingham State Bank as a Vice President in 1982.
Surviving are her sons, Chip McClure and wife Julie of Chatham and Mike McClure and wife Janet of Taylorville; grandcildren, Brian McClure and wife Kelly of Bourbonnais, Todd McClure and wife Jodi of Zionsville, Ind. Stacia McClure of Bloomington, Scott McClure and wife Susie of Taylorville; Megan McClure and Holly McClure of Taylorville; great grandchildren, Tyler McClure, Anna McClure, Luke McClure all of Bourbannais and Carter McClure of Zionsville, In and a sister Irma Field of Effingham.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; brother, Mark Goebel and sister, Nabema Brewer, Verberma Bear and Harriet Goebel.
