RAY CASTERLINE

Ray A. Casterline, 74, of 606 Short St., Gladwin, died suddenly Tuesday, Nov. 3, at his home. Born in Ann Arbor Nov. 23, 1912, he moved to Gladwin County in 1974. Mr. Casterline was a polisher for Pontiac Motors in Pontiac until retiring in 1971 after 34 years. He was a member of UAW Local 653 in Pontiac, the Pontiac Loyal Order of Moose 182; New Port Richey, Fla. FOE 3153.

Mr. Casterline and the former Bertha Pence were married Nov. 29, 1936, in Pontiac. Surviving besides his wife, are 2 sons, Ray of Middleburg, Fla. and Robert of Orlando, Fla; 4 daughters, Kay Thiry and Mrs. Jerome (Barbara) Kaczynski of Detroit, Beverly Street of Union Lake and Mrs. Rick (Joyce) Deering of Lake Orion; 2 brothers, LaVerne of Sunnyvale, Calif, and Donald of Ypsilanti; one sister, Mrs. Vera Zemke of Ann Arbor; 11 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

Services were held Friday at 1 p.m. from the Hall Funeral Home, Gladwin Chapel. The Rev. Jerry Locher officiated and burial was in the Highland Cemetery. A Moose Lodge memorial service was held Thursday at 7 p.m. Gladwin County Record dated 11-11/1987 Column – 3 Page – 2.
