Charles R. McGrail, 58, of BelAir Drive, North Syracuse , died Thursday at Crouse Irving Memorial Hospital.
A native of Pittsburgh, Pa., Mr. McGrail resided most of his life in the Syracuse area. He was a communications specialist with the Veterans Administration Medical Center and previously was an air traffic controller. His first wife, the former Joan Hanlon, died in 1980.
Surviving are his wife, Helen; a son, Charles S. of Liverpool; four daughters, Mary E. McGrail of North Syracuse , Patricia A. McGrail of Syracuse , Sharon McGrail of Mattydale and Maureen McGrail of Springville; two brothers, Thomas of Ohio and Francis of Hawaii; two sisters, Mildred Cusick and Geraldine Petri, both of Pennsylvania; and five granddaughters.
Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at DeWitt Memorial Chapel.
Calling hours will be noon to 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to North Area Volunteer Ambulance Corps or the Central New York Ronald McDonald House.
