16 Jan 1919
On January 3, 1919, the death angel visited the home of J.R. Gregory and took from that home a loving mother, Tranney Gregory. She was born November 1, 1870, being 48 years, 2 months and 2 days old. She was married to J.R. Gregory, January 10, 1889, and to this union was born eleven children, three girls and eight boys, ten of whom are living.
She was a kind and loving mother.
She professed faith in Christ several years ago and joined the Baptist Church and lived a faithful Christian until death. She has gone to live with her darling babe that departed from here several years ago and to live with her father and mother and other friends that have gone before.
She leaves a husband and ten children and a host of friends to mourn, but our loss is her eternal gain. Her prayers were always for her children to prepare to meet her in Heaven, so she now is gone, her voice is cold and still, a vacant place is in our home that no one else can fill. So mother is now gone; a sad and lonely place for us, there sits her vacant chair.
Her daughter,
Ada Bell // Daughter of Sidney Gregory & Sophronia Bell / Wife of J.R. Gregory, Married 10 Jan 1889
