A fatal drowning accident took place at Smith's Mill in the town of Pella Sunday afternoon, the victim being Herman Ehlert, an 18 year old son of August Ehlert. The young man was in swimming with a number of companions in the pond above the mill, and drowned in sight of his friends, being seized apparently with cramps. The body was recovered during the afternoon.
