"J.W. Hall received word Monday afternoon of the death of his mother at Waukon, IA. Mr. Hall andMrs. J. Laughlin had only been home a week from the bedside of their mother upon news of her death. They took the afternoon train to Waukon. Mrs. James Hall was 85 years of age. About 10 years ago she suffered a stroke of apoplexy, from which she never recovered - Harrold Journal"
