She was born in Otterbein on Nov. 11, 1925, the daughter of the late Roy and Grace Stovall Johnson. She graduated from Otterbein High School in 1943, and graduated from business college.
She married Elmer L. Pollard in Indianapolis on Oct. 25, 1951, and he died June 15, 1979.
Mrs. Pollard served in the Air Force for nine years. She was a secretary at the Senior Center, and later for Area IV and Lafayette Transitional Housing. She enjoyed helping people, especially working with the homeless
Surviving are one son, William C. Pollard (wife: Shirli) of Pensacola, Fla., and four daughters, Patricia Mleynek (husband: Roger) and Linda Prantl (companion: Pam Dibble), both of Lafayette, Jonnie Vanderkolk (husband: David Shaff) of Kokomo and Amey Brown (husband: Tom) of New Richmond.
Also surviving are 13 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother.
Visitation on Friday, March 25, 2011, from 2 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. at the auditorium at the Indiana Veterans' Home. Services there at 2:30 p.m., the Rev. David Hess officiating.
