God called Alicia Acosta home on Sunday, June 8, 2014, at 5:04 a.m. at the age of 84. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, June 12, 2014, at St. George Catholic Church in Haskell, Texas with Fr. George Roney officiating. Interment will take place immediately following at Willow Cemetery in Haskell under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes. A rosary is planned for Wednesday evening, June 11, 2014, beginning at 5:00 p.m. at St. George Catholic Church.

Alicia was born June 30, 1929, in Harlingen, Texas, to the late Theodoro and Elvira Rosales. She married Ray Acosta on December 7, 1949, in Haskell where Alicia remained until her going home.

She always thanked God and gave Him praise. All those around her enjoyed her sweet disposition, even while in pain at the Haskell Healthcare Center. She was a wonderful house wife and mother, raising 7 children. Alicia was a member of St. George Catholic Church. She was a tremendous prayer warrior and was constantly praying for everyone, especially her children.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 61 years Ray Acosta who went home in 2010.

She is survived by her 7 children, 11 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren.

Her children include: Ray Acosta, Jr from Tampa Fl; daughter Yolanda Casillas and husband Edmund from Knox City; son Erique Acosta wife Carol from Willmar MN; son Julio Acosta from Holley; son Robert Acosta from Haskell; daughter Alice Fuentes husband Roger from San Antonio; daughter Elaine Bradford from Sunnyvale CA.
