Mary Thompson Vance, widow of George W. Vance. Daughter of Edward and Margaret Thompson. Mary was an early Morgan County, Alabama pioneer, coming to Alabama from her birth state of South Carolina, in 1818, with her parents and siblings. She was a resident, for many years of Monroe County, Mississippi, where her husband's plantation was located. After his death, she removed to Morgan County, Alabama, with her son, Asa Vance.
