Bruce Milton Carrender was born July 30, 1947 and departed this life Monday, March 21, 2011 reaching the age of 63. He was the son of the late Bob and Stella (Crabtree) Carrender.
He was united in marriage to Shirley Mae Prince and to this union 4 children were born.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Mae Prince Carrender of Monticello, Ky. His 4 daughters; Lisa Gaye Carrender Perkins, Sheila Anne Carrender Hicks, Robin Dawne Carrender Dunagan Lewis all of Monticello, Ky. and Tiffany Janene Carrender Patrick of Somerset, Ky. His 8 grandchildren; Timothy Bryant Dunagan, Wesley Nathan Perkins, Holden Lane Patrick, Jarrett Tanner Perkins, Marissa Jerealynn Carrender Hicks, Mariah Jerealynn Carrender Hicks, Maria Jerealynn Carrender Hicks, and Tristan Bruce Carrender Patrick. He is also survived by 3 brothers; Donald "Duke" Carrender and David Carrender both of Monticello, Ky. and Kay Carrender of Somerset, Ky. and 5 sisters; Earshal Lowe, Shirley Artemis Mikel, Della Patton, and Yvonne Criswell all of Monticello, Ky. and Eleanor "Doe" Bertram of Pennsylvania; along with a host of family and friends who mourn his passing.
In addition to his parents, Bob and Stella Carrender, he was preceded in death by: his grandchild; Jeremy Daegan Hicks; 6 brothers; Randall, Howard, Rex, Hershel Ray, Porter, and Lee Carrender; as well as 2 sisters; Isabel Morse and Priscilla Davis.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 26, 2011 from 4:00-9pm in the chapel of the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Sunday, March 27, 2011 at 2 pm at the Marvin S. Hicks Funeral Home with Bro. Koger Ramsey officiating. Burial will be in Elk Spring Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to: St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or to The New Charity Baptist Building Fund
