COLLONGUES Sylvan Albert Collongues, Jr. passed away on Saturday, March 19, 2011 at the age of 78. Father of Carmela Collongues, Michael Collongues, Albert Collongues, Alyson Boling, Shannon Collongues, and Sharon Maggio. Admired grandfather of Nina Teff, Tracena Marie, Christopher Collongues, Bethanie and Cory Collongues, Dustin and Brooke Boling, Megan, Grant, and Kiefer Collongues, and Bradly and Alexis Maggio. Adored great-grandfather of Emma, Jack, and Alec Teff. Brother of Dolores Hartman, Melvin Collongues, and the late Joyce Corne. Companion of Jane Lamkin. Preceded in death by Rose LoCicero Collongues and daughter, Christine Marie Collongues. Sylvan was a U.S. Army Veteran and a retired Captain of the New Orleans Fire Dept. He was also employed by the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office, New Orleans Coroner's Office, and Avondale Shipyard, where he was a Fire Chief. Relatives and Friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service from the New Orleans Home of JACOB SCHOEN & SON, 3827 Canal St. at N. Scott; on Saturday, March 26, 2011 at 11:00 am. Visitation will be held on Friday evening from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm and on Saturday from 9:00am until service time. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
