Obituary:
William Bert Giles, 84, of Edwardsville, Alabama, died Tuesday, May 25, 2010, at Cleburne County Nursing Home.

Funeral service for Mr. Giles were May 27, 2010, at Dryden Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Benny Abney and the Rev. Arlin Ashley officiating.

Burial followed at Upper Cane Creek Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Willis Vaughn, Dennis Green, Dennis Hazel, Darrell Durham, Hulette Thompson, and Roy Thompson.

Survivors include his wife, Laverne Giles, of Edwardsville; two daughters, Karen (Jimmy) Shelton and Wanda (Gary) Rollins, all of Edwardsville; a son, Albert Doyle Giles, of Edwardsville; a brother, Charles E. Giles, of New York, N.Y. and two godchildren; five grandchildren Corey Giles of Anniston, Wade Giles of Maryland, Boby Shelton, Misty Shelton Bailey and Emily Shelton all of Fruithurst; and seven great-grandchildren.

Mr. Giles was a native and lifelong resident of Cleburne County. He was a Baptist by faith and was retired from Atlantic 3rd Systems in Tallapoosa, Georgia.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Daisey Giles; a sister, Oma Clark; three brothers, Clyde, Elvin and Calvin Giles, and a granddaughter, Tina Roxanne Giles.

He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.

Dryden Funeral Home was in charge of the services.
