---Ruth A. Gash, 75, of St. Charles died Wednesday (Jan. 20, 1988) at St. Joseph Health Center in St. Charles.
---The daughter of Orville and Nancy (Workman) Benner, she was born Nov. 8, 1912 at Gibbs. She was married to Kenneth Gash who preceded her in death 25 years ago.
---Surviving are two brothers, Wayne Benner of Seattle, Wash., and Dale Benner of Kirksville and a sister, Elsie Benner of Kirksville.
---She was preceded in death by a brother, Oscar Benner.
---Mrs. Gash taught in the public schools at St. Charles for 45 years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church at St. Charles, the Missouri Teachers Association, president of the Business and Professional Women's Club in 1975-76 and was involved with the St. Joseph Hospice and Hospital Gift Shop.
---Funeral services were at 1 p.m. Saturday (Jan. 23, 1988) in the La Plata Methodist Church with the Rev. Tim Lowen officiating. Burial of the cremains were in the La Plata cemetery.
