A graveside service will be held on Monday, Nov. 14, 2005 at 2 p.m. at the Chico Cemetery for Bernice Elaine Miller. Mrs. Miller passed away Tuesday at her home surrounded by her family. She was 82. She was born on March 19, 1923 in Moraga, Calif.

She attended school and graduated from Chico High School. She married Clarence Miller on March 3, 1941 in Reno, Nev. She was a homemaker all her adult life. She loved to garden and work with her roses. She also loved to travel and fish. She would often have a bet with her husband over who would catch the biggest fish. She was a member of the Pleasant Valley Assembly of God Church here in Chico.

She is survived by two sons, Monte O'Neil Miller of Washington State and Stanley L. Miller of Chico; daughter Judy Birdseye of Chico; sister Edith Grish of San Francisco; brother Arthur Gibbs of Yuba City, 10 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence and a grandson, Samuel L. Miller.

A visitation will be held Sunday evening from 5-8 p.m. at the chapel of the Brusie Funeral Home. Memorial contributions can be made in her name to the American Cancer Society in care of the Funeral Home. Published in Chico Enterprise-Record on Nov. 10, 2005.
