Jerry was born on January 1, 1961, in Clinton, Mo to Paul and Betty Barrow Mueller , who preceded him in death. He was raised in Creighton, MO and graduated from Sherwood High School in 1979. In 1982, he received his Bachelor's Degree from CMSU and went onto earn his Masters Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from UMKC. On October 20, 1984, he was united in Marriage to Michelle(Moran). From 1984-1991, he taught at Sherwood High School and in 1991, he accepted a job for the Grain Valley School District. Since then, he has taught senior English, Speech, and Drama at Grain Valley High School and he had enjoyed directing many plays and musicals, especially when his daughter, Liz was in the cast.

Jerry was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Blue Springs where he taught Sunday School, charter member of the Grain Valley Optimists Club, and an Honorary Warrior of the Tribe of Mic-O-Say where he loved to volunteer and spend time with his son, Blaine during Boys Scouts. Because of his love for cooking, Jerry was always invited along on many overnight trips. He loved to garden and spend time outside.

Jerry is survived by his Wife: Michelle, Children: Elizabeth and Blaine, Sister:Paula May and husband Chris, Mother and Father In-Law: Mike and Jan Moran, Sister and Brother In-Law: Lorri and Jeff Boydston, Nephews: Alex May and Evan Boydston, Niece: Hanna May.
