She was born Oct. 1, 1939, in Carroll County, Ky., the daughter of Harry and Emma Banks Sachleben. She had worked for The Madison Courier in the advertising department and as a cashier at Gateway Supermarket. She was also a homemaker. She enjoyed Longaberger baskets, walking, reading, Duke basketball and spending time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed NASCAR, especially driver Jeff Gordon. She was a member of North Madison Christian Church and was previously a member of North Madison Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir.
She is survived by two sons, Mike Bright of Hilliard, Ohio, and Steve L. Bright of Owensboro, Ky.; two daughters, Amy Kaye Bright and Angie S. Kelley, both of Madison; one sister, Marjorie L. Burch of Madison; six grandchildren; two step grandchildren; three step great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Dale Bright, whom she married Nov. 28, 1957, and who died March 17, 1995; her parents; and one granddaughter.
The funeral was at Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre. Burial was in the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
