Obit for Rosa
Rosa Mae Copsey, the third daughter of Mrs. R. M. Brookins, was born at the Ink Ranch in the southern part of Lake County, Feb. 13, 1882, and died at Napa City, Oct.24, 1918 at the age of 36 years, 8 months and 11 days a victim of influenza. The remains were buried at Lower Lake, Oct. 26 at 2 p.m. Most of her life was spent in Lake County. On February 17, 1900, she was married to Geo. W. Copsey. Four children were born to this union, Lumin, Elvin, Velma and George W. Her husband passed away 10 years ago on Mar. 1, 1908.
[Her youngest son, George Jr., was born DURING the funeral services for his father on March 3, 1908.]
She was a member of the Christian church. A good mother and a good woman, whom everyone who knew her will miss.
She leaves to mourn her loss besides her children, one step son Burton, her mother, two sister, Mrs. Millie Davis of Oakland and Mrs. Mary Colton on Napa City, six brothers, Edwin of Morgan Valley, Lake County, and Frank of Middletown, Lake County, Minor of Shasta County; John and Wick of Napa City and Mortie of Oakland. a host of other relatives and friends.
