Mary Warner Cooke was the daughter of Brainard H. Warner. She attended Mount Vernon Seminary. She was a member of the Chevy Chase Club and the Sulgrave Club. She died at the age of 91 at the Washington Hospital Center on Wednesday, June 17, 1970 after a long illness. She was a resident of 2409 Wyoming Avenue Northwest and the widow of Levi Cooke. Survivors included two daughters: Mrs. G. Lewis Jones and Mrs. Robert F. Woodward, both of the District of Columbia; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one sister, Mrs. Donald Smith of Princeton, New Jersey and one brother, H. Hamilton Warner of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Services were at Bethlehem Chapel in Washington Cathedral. Interment was at Oak Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requested contributions to Children’s Hospital.
