Anthony Morris Brooks - known as Tony Brooks was an Agent of the French Section of the Special Operations Executive, he was both the youngest serving, and the longest serving Agent, very effective saboteur and a good organiser.Well suited to clandestine work he was a very secretive person by nature.
Brooks was educated at Chillon College Geneva, and Felsted, he spoke fluent French-recruited by the French Section of the Special Operations Executive, who originally they thought him to be too young. During the training course he proved himself to be very capable and resourceful.
He was parachuted into France in July 1942 - his mission to form the Pimento Network. Which was to be a very successful sabotage network,which caused the German Army a great deal of disruption; in both communication failures and train derailment.
Every train which left..Marseille for Lyon was derailed at least once. The 2nd SS Panzer Division Das Reich under Heinz Lammerding was prevented from reaching the front after D-Day.
Brooks was once arrested but his cover story was so convincing the Gestapo released him.
Brooks was married twice - no children.
After the war he continued in the Intelligence sector, working at the Foreign Office,MI5 and MI6.
