VANCE Hilda Ramsey Luker, age 95, of Vance, Ala., went to be with her Lord Jesus Christ on Aug. 16, 2009, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be 1 p.m. today at Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home South. Burial will follow in Tuscaloosa Memorial Park.
She was preceded in death by her husband, V.S. Luker, parents, Robert and Edna Ramsey, sister, Katie Sue Homan, and three brothers, Clifford, Jessie B., and Fred Morris Ramsey.
Survivors include her daughter Dr. Joe Ann Wheeler (Woody), granddaughter, Melinda Ann Wheeler, and a host of relatives and friends.
For many years she was the school lunchroom manager at Alberta Jr. High and then at Arcadia Elementary School. Until her health declined, she especially enjoyed working with her flowers, traveling and being active in her church. She will be greatly missed.
Pallbearers will be W.C. Ramsey, Gerald Ramsey, Roger Bryant, Larry Paul Chandler, Josh Rushing and Mike Wheeler.
