A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, 2002, in St. Luke Lutheran Church in Portland for Margaret Mary Abplanalp, who died Jan. 1 at age 79.
Mrs. Abplanalp was born Margaret Mary Dickson on March 29, 1922, in Lavina, Mont., and moved to Portland in 1924. She graduated from Franklin High School and lived in San Francisco before returning to Portland in 1947. She was a secretary for Blue Cross and then for the Tigard School District for 11 years, retiring in 1981. In 1945, she married Elmer H. Abplanalp.
Survivors include her husband; son, Scot H.; daughter, Heidi Prickett; brother, Robert T. Dickson; and five grandchildren.
