Bob M. McClaren passed away at his home at the age of 72. He was born to Wylie and Mildred (Ventling) McClaren and had lived in Custer since 1996. He had lived in Reno, NV from 1971 to 1976, coming from Wyoming, South Dakota and Arizona. Bob was employed at Homestake Gold Mine in Utah and Arizona and also worked on dam and interstate highway construction in South Dakota and Wyoming. He attended Worsham College of Mortuary Science in Chicago. While living in Reno he was a federal mine inspector for the Mine Safety and Health Administration. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Masonic Lodge. He is survived by his wife, Charlotte Lauritsen of Custer; son, Bob and brother Joe, both of Pringle, SD; and one grandson. He was preceded in death by a sister, Donna and a brother, Glenn.
