Briggs Thomas Stevens died suddenly Monday morning, April 10th, of apoplexy. His funeral was held at the old home where he died, and where years ago he expressed a desire to spend the remainder of his days. His early life was spent near Danville, Que. He was married Sept. 25, 1865, to Celestia Cheney of this town, and at that time came here to live and since then has made many friends, who extend their sympathy to Mrs. Stevens and the three sons, Reuben C, Nelson C. and Judson T. Stevens who live in this place. He leaves four brothers and two sisters, Mrs. Asa Hancock [name of second sister not in article] and Eben Stevens of Coventry, John Stevens of Sutton, and a brother in Boston and one in Canada.
