He was born November 23, 1925 at Miracle Run, a son of the late Learney D. Tennant, Sr. and Bertha Mae Wilson Tennant.
Homer was a retired sheet metal worker. He was a member of the Tri-County Building Trades Local #33 of Akron, Ohio. He was a United States Navy veteran who served in World War II in the Pacific Theatre and was a member of the VFW Post #8975 of Akron. He was Baptized in the Church of Christ.
Surviving are one son & daughter-in-law, Ed & Kelly Tennant of Akron; two brothers, Stanley Tennant of (Pleasant Valley) Fairmont and Billy Tennant of Fairview; two sisters, Mavis Lantz of Miracle Run and Jean Berry of Mt. Morris, PA; one grandson, Jacob Tennant of Akron; one granddaughter, Karly Tennant of Akron; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Helen Mae Vangilder Tennant; four sisters, Helen Tennant, Pansy Lowther, Violet Conner, and Marjorie Kiger; two brothers, Dwayne Tennant and Learney D. Tennant, Jr.
Friends may call at the Owen-Neely Funeral Home in Blacksville from 7-9 PM Sunday and from 2-4 & 7-9 PM Monday. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 1:00 PM Tuesday. Interment will follow in the Daybrook Cemetery.
