AMOS LUTTMAN DIES AT AN AUBURN HOME
Town Marshal at Corunna for Many Years Passes Away at Home of Daughter, Mrs. Milo Mason, at Age of 79
Amos Luttman, 79, town marshal at Corunna for many years and for a short period an employee of the Auburn police department, died at 8 a.m. Saturday at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Milo Mason of 119 East Jefferson, Street, Auburn.
His death was attributed to complications resulting from a stroke of paralysis suffered about six months ago. He was formerly a patient at the McCray memorial hospital at Kendallville and the Dr. J. A. Sanders hospital in Auburn.
Mr. Luttman was a native of Corunna, born July 29, 1869. He was a lifelong resident of DeKalb county. His wife, the former Alvira Zimmerman, preceded him in death. He was a member of the United Brethren church at Corunna.
Surviving besides the daughter in Auburn, are a son, Jesse Luttman of Dallas street, Auburn, a daughter, Ruth Tyler of Rome City and seven grandchildren.
The body, which was taken to the Gerig funeral home in Auburn for burial preparations, remained until noon Monday. Services were held at 2 p.m. Monday at the United Brethren church at Corunna. The Rev. James Payton of Edgerton, O., former resident of Corunna, officiated with burial in Corunna cemetery.
