Mrs. Margaret Williams Dies At Home In Rancho At The Age of 84

Mrs. Margaret Williams died at her home near Rancho last Friday at 4 o'clock.
She was born in Lavaca county in 1834. She was married to William Yearly in 1850. To this union one child was born. Mrs. Elkins of Dewville.
Having lost her husband, she was married the second time to William A. Williams in 1854. To this union 11 children were born.
She moved with her husband to Kerr county and lived about eight years. Seventy years of her age was spent in Gonzales county, and fifty years of that time was spent at the place where she passed away.
She was the mother of 12 children and reared six grandchildren. There was 83 grandchildren, 69 of who are living; 86 great-grandchildren, 75 of who are living, and four great-great-grandchildren.
There were 191 children,grandchildren,great grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, 166 of who are living.
She professed relegion under the ministry of John Wesley Devilbliss in 1856, and united with the Methodist church in Kerrville.
She was a consistent christian and attended the services of her church regularly until age prevented.
Being one of the pioneer settlers, she was one of the few who had seen the faces of the Red man when they were deprecating in this country.
She endured all the privation incident to pioneer life, helping to blaze the way to a greater and more progressive civilization.
We laid her frail body to rest int he Rancho cemetery Saturday afternoon at four o'clock in the presence of a large concourse of relatives and friends. We extended our sincere sympathy to the bereaved. F.M. Jackson-Nixon-News
