Passed away from earth to her reward in heaven, on the 16th day of October, 1896, Mrs. Emma J. Grovenstine, wife of L. F. Grovenstine, in Effingham County, Georgia, aged 41 years, 10 months and 12 days. She was born in Newberry County, S. C. She was baptized in infancy, and in early life renewed and assumed her baptismal covenant and was received into the Evangelical Lutheran Church by the beautiful right of confirmation. Mrs. Grovenstine was a devoted christian, an affectionate wife, and kind mother and loved by all who knew her. She leaves an affectionate husband, nine children and many friends to mourn her departure. Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord. Rev. J. Austin
