Sunday at St. John's Hospital North. A resident of R.R. 7, Springfield, since 1966, she was born April 4, 1919, in Island Grove Township, the daughter of Fred Alvis and Allie Nancy Buchanan Harlan. She married Bernard Gabriel in 1966.
Preceding her in death were her parents one brother, one sister, one grandchild and one great-grandchild.
Surviving are her husband, Bernard; four daughters, Mrs. Donald (Donna) Norman, Mrs. Walter (Carolyn) Baker and Mrs. James (Nancy) Sanges, all of Springfield, and Mrs. Roger (Sandra) Embrey of Illiopolis; one son, Jackie Clark of Thornton, Colo.; three stepdaughters, Mrs. Patricia Jones, Mrs. Dorothy Mattox and Mrs. Betty Kluckman, all of Springfield; three stepsons, Larry, Richard and Eugene Gabriel, all of Rochester; 16 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and nine step-grandchildren; five sisters, Mrs. Edna Clark, Mrs. Alice Hopper, Mrs. Nadine Bisby and Mrs. Bernice Young, all of Springfield, and Mrs. Eileen McAfee of Aurora, Colo.; five brothers, Ivan and Dewey Harlan, both of Springfield, Claude Harlan of Waggoner, Herbert Harlan of Northglenn, Colo., and Delmar Harlan of Athens; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Staab Funeral Home, with the Rev. John Cox officiating. Burial will be in Camp Butler National Cemetery.
