He was born March 21, 1914 in Murray County, Georgia, to the late Ira Sanford and Nora Leatherwood Thomas.
Andrew resided in Barrow County for the past 30 years and was a retired residential carpenter. He was a member of Long Swamp Baptist Church, Jasper.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 27, in the chapel of Carter Funeral Home, Winder, with the Rev. Shuford Jones officiating. Burial was in Barrow Memorial Gardens.
Andrew was survived by his wife, two daughters, four sons, one sister, eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
